Using Product Design to grow your BusinessCompanies use our industrial design services in Melbourne to deliver innovation to their markets and keep ahead of their competition. Val Morgan Outdoor is working hard to become the world’s largest digital screen network in shopping centres, with large format digital panels installed in 430 locations around Australia to deliver a cumulative audience of 30 million consumers weekly, and cover a third of all retail sales. The new premium “Ultra” screen is a key component of the Val Morgan Outdoor strategy and has been designed by Bayly to meet their critical aesthetic, space, performance, cost and maintainability requirements within their critical time frame.
Own your product design and don't be restricted to a single supplierBayly was able to step into the “Ultra” screen program with minimum preparation after Val Morgan Outdoors’ manufacturing suppliers were unable to deliver a suitable solution. By engaging with us to undertake a proper industrial design program for the product, Val Morgan Outdoor are able to own the design of the screen and have the flexibility to approach a wide supplier base for sourcing. Val Morgan Outdoors were able to supply a concept for the screen that they hoped to realise and our team was able to complete the industrial design close to original vision.
An elegant design solution is conceivedOur solution focused on producing the sub frame for the screen from only six basic structural elements. The main steel panels have all fixing, cable access and screen hanging interfaces cut from the sheet when flat and then simply creased to create the form. The shelves are used to hold the display driver, modems and other screen equipment and the six large screens are hung to the sub-frame using common custom brackets. Lightweight aluminium top panels and side panels are easily removable to allow for easy access to screens and electronics. The hardware for Val Morgan Outdoors’ DART (Digital outdoor Audience in Real Time) system is artfully concealed along the bottom of the screen. DART aggregates actual campaign viewing data, delivering real-time accountability never before seen in the Australian outdoor sector.
